About

Amanda Burger

Your partner in navigating life’s challenges

I’ve always been deeply curious about people and their unique stories—specifically, what shapes our experiences and what truly helps us thrive. This curiosity is what drove me to dedicate my life’s work to the field of behavioral health. I believe that psychotherapy is a collaborative journey, and my goal is to help you cultivate real, measurable, and lasting change.

Since starting my educational journey in the early 2000s, I have practiced as a clinical health psychologist and psychotherapist. Throughout my career, I have had the privilege of helping countless individuals navigate complex hurdles like chronic insomnia, unresolved trauma, anxiety, and the emotional toll of living with chronic health conditions. My mission is to help you regain your internal balance, build psychological resilience, and reclaim the narrative of your life.

I earned my doctorate in Clinical Psychology at Wayne State University, which laid a rigorous scientific foundation for my practice. Following my graduate training, I spent a significant portion of my career working within fast-paced academic health centers with a dual focus on treating patients with a variety of health conditions as well as the opportunity to train and supervise the next generation of health professionals. These settings allowed me to collaborate with medical teams and stay at the absolute forefront of evidence-based psychological treatments.

Over the years, I have refined a straightforward, highly personalized, and solutions-based approach. Rather than just talking about problems, we will focus on practical, actionable strategies rooted in eclectic psychological approaches, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Insomnia (CBT-I), trauma-informed care, and health psychology. Together, we will identify the tools you need to achieve tangible relief from whatever is holding you back.

When I am not working with clients, I protect my own work-life balance by spending time with my dogs, playing mahjong, diving into audiobooks, and exploring new places. I look forward to connecting with you and supporting you on your path toward healing.
